For my last night in Vancouver, I met up with my son at a little Vancouver brew pub called “The Alibi Room.” Wow! Just Wow.
They serve several zillion different types of beer from micro-breweries around the world, and if you want to try a bunch, they offerlittle samplers (see pic). The concept is great – but not nearly as great as the service. This may be as close to perfect restaurant customer service as I’ve ever seen.
The young woman who looked after us (I believe her name was Nadja) was brilliant. Not only was she enthusiastic about every single one of the zillion beers they have, she was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. When my son and I each asked her to ‘suprise me’ with a selection of samplers, she didn’t hesitate. We then did the same with the food, and she was equally as confident and cheerful.
The best part was that Nadja wasn’t the only one who was like this. We must have been acknowledged by a half dozen other staff, who all seem to have come out of the same mold. Happy, enthusiastic, outgoing, friendly. Oh, man. I can’t WAIT to go back to Vancouver!
